A very simple picture of this young girl holding a sign stating that a stronger education makes for a better world. This image captures the growing sentiment from a part of this country who feel that the low expectations of many impoverished urban schools are not acceptable. We must work harder to make all schools better, so that all kids will have an equal chance in helping to make a better world.

The Progressive - Racial Inequality in Education

The Progressive is a monthly magazine of politics and culture. In this particular article from September, 2011, David Love addresses the inequality in the educational system amongst minorities, namely African-American and Latino students. This is a valuable source of information for knowledge on the racial aspect of education inequality, because it gives specific statistics to back up the points that the author is making.

Love says in this article, "We need more investments in schools, at a time when tea party governors, state legislators and members of Congress seek to slash billions of dollars in funds to education." This gets to the heart of what this webliography has been designed for, while supporting this sentiment with solid facts and numbers.
